San Antonio Hotels

If you want to know about hotels in San Antonio and their location, you've found the place. We drive by these hotels daily. There is no need to stay at any of the hotels because we live here but we do know the nice hotels and hear thoughts from our friends who visit San Antonio and stay in one of the hotels here. We know where they are and we know what kind of traffic and what kind of commute you'll have if traveling from out of town. We know about these places to stay if you're coming here. San Antonio Airport Hotels

Hotels and lodging for travelers that need to be near the San Antonio airport. Transportation to and from the hotels near the International Airport is always available through hotel shuttle service or cab service. Cabs are available at terminals one and two and if car rental in San Antonio is what you prefer, the Airport is at the corner of Highway 281 and North Loop 410 with airport exits on each freeway. The San Antonio Airport isn't hard to navigate to, from or in so area Airport area hotels don't require a lengthy trip or complicated directions. Keep in mind that hotels are constantly being built in the airport area so this list may not be entirely up to date but we'll make additions as we come across new airport area hotels.

Downtown and Riverwalk Hotels

The hotels in downtown San Antonio are convenient to all downtown attractions and centralized businesses in any of San Antonio's high rise office buildings. Development of downtown San Antonio is in full swing so the hotel and lodging choices are growing as well. The Amtrak Station is just across IH-37 and is convenient for rail passengers staying at a downtown hotel. The hotels in downtown San Antonio are served from the airport through a number of ground transportation companies.

San Antonio guests and visitors often want to stay in hotels that are on the riverwalk. As opposed to near the riverwalk, the hotels listed here are on the riverwalk, not near or in the vicinity, but on the riverwalk. Hotel rooms that face the river afford guests the beautiful view of the San Antonio Riverwalk. During events and celebrations on the river such as the River Parade, these hotels rent out rooms facing the river for groups and spectators wanting to enjoy the festivities. Riverwalk hotels include:

  • Westin Riverwalk - A beautiful hotel on the banks of the San Antonio River. King Antonio stays in this very upscale and high class hotel during the 10 days of Fiesta.
  • Hyatt Regency San Antonio - Situated on the banks of the Riverwalk, the Hyatt Regency boasts a popular Jazz bar very familiar to locals...Jim Cullums Landing.
  • Hotel Valencia - A newer and very modern hotel, the Valencia is known for its luxury accomodations. The Valencia is on the banks of the river walk.
  • Riverwalk Vista Hotel - A bed and breakfast hotel on the San Antonio Riverwalk named one of the "hot, hip hotels" by Texas Monthly.
  • La Mansion del Rio - An Omni Hotel with beautiful arches and architecture on the banks of the San Antonio River.
  • Watermark Hotel - A four star hotel and spa has been called one of San Antonio's most luxurious hotels and is featured in the Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
  • Marriott Rivercenter - A 38 story hotel located on the riverwalk and conveniently attached to the River Center Mall.
  • Hotel Contessa - Another upscale hotel on the banks of the river with a large and fancy outdoor terrace for entertaing hotel guests.

San Antonio Marriott Hotels

San Antonio currently has four Marriott hotels, three of which are downtown. The River Center and Riverwalk Marriott's are right next to each other and the riverwalk with combined total of 1,512 rooms and 2050 rooms in all San Antonio Marriott's. The Marriott hotel chain is world renowned while able to give San Antonio hospitality to guests and tourists visiting the Alamo City. San Antonio has four Courtyards in addition to their flagship brand hotels. They are located conveniently near the medical center, downtown, and two near the airport along Loop 410.

The tallest hotel in San Antonio is the Marriott Rivercenter with 1,001 rooms. It is connected to the Rivercenter mall and within walking distance of the riverwalk and other downtown San Antonio attractions. This hotel is really an impressive Marriott and distinct part of the San Antonio skyline. The 511 room Marriott Riverwalk hotel is located next to the San Antonio Convention Center on the riverwalk and like the Rivercenter Marriott, is in the heart of downtown making it accessible to area attractions and downtown San Antonio sights. Formerly the Four Seasons, the 246 room Marriott Plaza hotel is a luxury San Antonio hotel with courtyards overflowing with greenery on landscaped grounds. Located just south of downtown, the Plaza San Antonio is next to La Villita and Hemisfair Plaza. Marriott's Northwest San Antonio Hotel is located near the medical center at the corner of I-10 and Loop 410 making it accessible to travelers. The hotel has 292 rooms and is convenient to Fiesta Texas, Sea World and other northwest San Antonio attractions.

San Antonio Hyatt Hotels

Hyatt has three large hotels in San Antonio with a combined total of 1,420 guest rooms and suites. Two additional Hyatts are to be built in the near future. They include the Grand Hyatt San Antonio which will have 1,000 guest rooms and the Hyatt Place Northwest, which will have over 100 rooms taking Hyatt's hotel capacity in San Antonio over 2,500 rooms. Hyatt has always ranked well for cleanliness and good service and San Antonio Hyatt hotels enjoy a fine reputation locally.

Situated on the Riverwalk, the downtown Hyatt Regency hotel has 632 rooms and suites that open up to an open air atrium overlooking the river. The hotel sits in the middle of a notable downtown entertainment district with upscale restaurants just across the street. The Hyatt Hill Country Resort boasts 500 rooms and suites situated on 200 acres in natural hill country landscapes. This Hyatt also has 27 holes of golf and a "lazy river" for relaxation. Built in 2004, Hyatt's vacation club Wild Oak Ranch is adjacent to the Hyatt Hill Country Resort. This Hyatt features a lazy river for laid back enjoyment as well as restaurants and beautiful golf course views of the Hill Country Golf Club. This San Antonio Hyatt has 288 luxury guest rooms.

San Antonio Hilton Hotels

The Hilton hotel chain has a strong San Antonio presence. Hilton's flagship brand has two hotels here while their affiliate brands are all over the city. The Hilton presence dates back to 1968 when the Palacio Del Rio opened. Hilton family hotels currently in San Antonio include Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Doubletree, and Homewood Suites.

Hilton's Palacio Del Rio 483 room hotel is conveniently located across from the convention center and on the riverwalk. This Hilton is also home to a local favorite, Durty Nelly's Pub. An interesting note about this hotel is that it was put together one room a the time during its construction. The 387 room Hilton San Antonio Airpotrt hotel is extremely convenient to the airport and North Star Mall on the North side of town. This is not one of the fancier Hiltons but it's nice and it's location is travel friendly. The hotel is also home to Tex's - a great hotel bar. San Antonio's Airport Hilton is a great hotel for visitors needing a room near the airport.
